Mount Vernon's Jasmine Hill wins 3 events at AAU Indoor Nationals

At least one Virginia high school track & field athlete was not fully done with her 2013 indoor track season after the New Balance Nationals as Mount Vernon junior Jasmine Hill traveled all the way down this past weekend to Birmingham, Alabama for the AAU Indoor Track & Field National Championships. Hill competed in a wide range of four running events from the 55 meter dash to 800 meter run. She proved her range to be strong by winning AAU indoor titles among the 17-19 age group division in three races between the 200 (25.84), 400 (57.60), and 800 (2:28.15), while placing fourth in the 55 meter dash (7.46). After transferring over to Mount Vernon from Battlefield for her junior year, Hill ran the nation's 10th fastest time this winter at 500 meters with her 1:15.89 runner-up race to Felecia Majors at the Northern Region Championships. Last spring at Battlefield High School, Hill was the Northwest Region champion at 400 meters and a Group AAA All-State finisher in the event as well.
