4/27/13 Weekend

Payton Jordan Invitational, CA

Highlights

  • Elise Cranny (CO) hung with the pack in the 2nd heat of the 1500m run and kicked hard to finish 3rd overall with a US#3 All-Time high school mark of 4:15.07!! The time is only behind the 4:10.77 set by Mary Cain this past weekend at the Drake Relays and Jordan Hasay's 4:14.50 time.  Unbelievable!!  As far as performances, the mark is #6 all-time.  The list is as follows, 1. Mary Cain, 4:10.77; 2. Cain 4:11.01; 3. Jordan Hasay, 4:14.74; 4. Cain, 4:14.74; 5. Cain, 4:14.77; 6. Elise Cranny, 4:15.07.
  • We asked Elise what she thought about the weekend and she had this to say:
    • The atmosphere was very exciting. I loved the energy of the meet and i loved being able to run with collegians and sponsored athletes. There was so much excitement and it was really fun to run at night. It was a really well run meet and I loved having two rabbits in the race. It was a whole new experience. At the beginning of the race I was taking in the experience and I was having so much fun. Then I realized that I was in last and I that I should probably pick it up. The last 100 was so much fun because the crowd was loud and I could feel the excitement and energy. This was definitely the most fun race I have ever run. I am super excited about my time because it was a huge PR.
