Reebok Manhattan HS Invitational, NY

  • Boys Eastern States: Tony Russell (West Chester Henderson) won a big one over Bryce Millar (Fayetteville-Manlius) with a 12:20 clocking to 12:21.1.  Mickey Burke (Rush Henrietta) was third in 12:23.8.  Christian Brothers Academy (NJ) won the boys race with 90 points over Fayetteville-Manlius (NY) with 114 points.  Liverpool (NY) was 3rd with 159 point and West Chester Henderson (PA) was 4th with 168 points.
  • Girls Eastern States: Kennedy Weisner (Elk County Catholic) won the girls race with a time of 14:09.7, #6 all-time, over Autumn Eastman (Champlain Valley) in 14:23.1.  Courtney Smith (Unionville) was 3rd in 14:26.  Unionville (PA) withstood a late charge from Fayetteville-Manlius (NY) by a score of 89 to 92.  Assumption (KY) was 3rd with 146 and Pennsbury (PA) was 4th with 159 points.

 

Clovis XC Invitational, CA

Blake Haney finishes strong in 15:01, Austin Tamagno 2nd, 15:07.

Highlights

  • Blake Haney won yet again, keeping his perfect streak alive with a time of 15:01.  Austin Tamagno was 2nd in 15:07.  Arcadia (CA) won the boys team battle with a 77:47 time, 6th fastest all-time on the course, behind 4 of their own record.
  • Sarah Baxter won the girls sweepstake race in 17:00 and Simi Valley followed her lead for the team win with a #6 AT time of 90:48.
  • Julia Bounds broke the Central Coast Section frosh class record with a quick 17:54 clocking.  The old record belonged to Anna Maxwell from 2010!

 

Front Range League XC Championships, CO

Coverage

Highlights

  • Frosh Lauren Gregory (Fort Collins) demolished everybody, winning overall with a time of 17:35.34.  Emma Gee (Legacy NV) was 2nd in 18:03.53.  Fort Collins ran away with the team race as well with 30 points as Legacy was 2nd with 71 and Fairview 3rd with 75.  

 

Richland Invitational, WA

Coverage

Highlights

  • HUGE battle on the boys side with 3 Saucony Elite 50 ranked runners in the house!  #2 Joe Hardy (Seattle Prep) won overall in a close race with a time of 14:47.66.  #14 John Dressel (Mt. Spokane) was 2nd in 14:49.59 and #8 Kai Wilmot (North Central) was 3rd in 14:51.65.  Teammate Tanner Anderson was 4th in 14:54.27.  US#14 North Central won over Nathan Hale in the team race by a score of 69 to 96!
  • Lindsey Bradley (Richland) won the girls race on her home course in a time of 17:48.09.

 

George Fox Cross Country Classic, OR

Matthew Maton rips a 14:32 FTW in the boys elite race.

Coverage

Highlights

  • Allie Ostrander travelled from Kanai Central, Alaska to win the girls Elite varsity race with a blazing sub-17 clocking of 16:47.8.  Close on her heels though was Ella Donaghu from Grant, who finished 2nd in 16:54.1.  Summit won the team title with 62 points over South Eugene, 105.
  • Matthew Maton (Summit OR) ripped up the course to win the boys Elite varsity race with a time of 14:32.  Levi Thomet (Kodiak AK) finished 2nd with a time of 14:43.9.  Summit won the team title over South Eugene 78 to 144.

 

Potosi Invitational / MAAA Conference Meet, MO

Highlights

  • Taylor Werner (Ste. Genevieve) cruised to the win, 1:41 ahead of her nearest teammate.  Ste. Genevieve swept the top-5 spots to win with 15 points.  

 

Albemarle XC Invitational, VA

Coverage

Highlights

  • Bonnie Angermeier (Blacksburg) kicked passed Molly Breidenbaugh to win in 18:40 individually.  Blacksburg girls killed the field with the win with a mere 24 points with Ocean Lakes a distant 2nd with 129 points.
  • Ryan Thomas (Albermarle) won the boys race in 15:55 after breaking away from the pack with 200m to go.

 

Florida State Invitational, FL

Coverage

Highlights

  • Sukhi Khosla set the boys course record with a swift 14:59 clocking for the win!  Chiles took down Belen Jesuit for the elite team title by a score of 165 to 175.
  • Caroline Barlow won a big victory over Emily Edwards with a time of 17:54.  Estero won the girls elite crown with 121 points.

 

Midstate Championships, TN

Highlights

  • Brentwood boys looked golden, sweeping the top-4 places to win with 20 points over Brentwood Academy with 63.  Alec Thomas, Taylor Caldwell, Aaron Thomas and Coleman Churitch led the way with times of 15:21.12, 15:22.53, 15:24.43 and 15:24.79.

 

Ottawa-Kent Championships, MI

Coverage

Highlights

  • Lauren Brasure led Rockford to a dominate victory with 26 points scored.  Lauren won overall with a time of 17:49.80.  Soph Valerie Wieranga (Grandville) was 2nd in 18:09.

 

Suburban West Conference Meet, MO

Coverage

Highlights

  • Noah Kauppila (Marquette) won the boys race by 39 seconds in 15:29.30.
  • Hannah Long (Eureka) won the girls race by a huge 83 second margin in 17:17.50!

 

Gene Mullin Invitational, SC

Coverage

Highlights

  • James Quattlebaum (Christ Church) won the boys varsity race with a quick 15:28.19 clocking.  
  • Mary Prouty (Myers Park) won the girls varsity race in 18:23.15.
