  • Richard Rose of Boys and Girls (NY) takes down the meet record in the 600, hitting 1:19.20. US top 15 all-time!
  • Hometown hero Sean Kelly of Chaminade goes US #1 to win the 1000m, with his new meet record of 2:27.32
  • DeMatha Catholic boys (MD) steam roll to a US #1 1:30.21 vicotry in the 4x200 meter relay.
  • Kyle Levermore of Don Bosco wins 2-mile in a new US #2 9:15.49, Stephen Garrett of Tatnall (DE) in second with 9:19.01.
  • Union Catholic (NJ) swept the 300 for boys and girls with Jordan Jimerson taking the "W" for his school with a US #2 clocking of 34.35. Jimerson later ran on the Union Catholic 4x400, which posted a time around the national leading time in the relay event at 3:22.

Girls Highlights

  • New Rochelle girls lowered their national leading time in the 4x200 down to 1:42.00 to conclude the meet
  • Bronxville girls 9:26.53 US #1 4x800
  • Sydney McLaughlin of Union Catholic (NJ) rolled on the fast banked track at the Armory with US #1 clocking of 38.54. Only .02 of a second off the national freshmen class record in the event!
  • Claire Howlett of Westhill High School (CT) ran a US #1 time of 10:48 in the two mile leading wire to wire after a mid-race challenge from Gianna Frontera and Anna Flynn.
  • A US #1 performance in the girls 600 from Columbia's Olivia Baker (NJ) in a time of 1:33.65. Baker took 3 seconds off the previous national leading time in the event
  • Denise Branch of Benjamin Cardozo (NY) pulls away from 2 mile winner Howlett in the mile for a US #1 5:03.17 victory.
  • Elwood/John Glenn's Sarah Hardie (NY) runs right around her US #6 season best of 3:01 in the 1000 meter run and holds off Jazmine Fray for an exciting win at the Armory.
  • Ashley Wiggins of New Rochelle (NY) rolls through the hurdles to a US #5 performance of 8.20 in the 55 meter hurdles.
  • Sydney McLaughlin of Union Catholic goes US#1 38.55 in the 300m! NJ State record! And only .02 off freshmen national record!

 

 


NC Runners Elite Holiday Invitational (NC)

  • Knightdale edges Southeast Raleigh in the boys 4x400, both North Carolina relays in the 3:22's, US #1 and US #2 
  • Alex Tate (Marvin Ridge NC) threw US #4 mark of 57' 7" to win the shot for the second week in a row.
  • Current US #3 55 meter hurdler Isaiah Moore of Cummings HS (NC) wasn't able to best his 7.37 season best but still won the event impressively in 7.47
  • Daniel Estrada (NC) took first in the boys 55 dash with a US #6 clocking of 6.45.
  • Marquavious Johnson (Knightdale) lowers the high school facility record by running 49.17 while winning the Invitational 400
  • Drew Pederson (Apex NC) cleared 14' 6" to win the boys pole vault, NC #1 and a big PR
  • Wyatt Mackey of Providence (NC) won the boys 1600 in a North Carolina state leading time of 4:24.
  • Southeast Raleigh boys won the 4x800 in a NC state leading time of 8:20.

Girls Highlights

  • Raven Saunders (Burke SC) threw a mark of 53' 8" in the GIRLS shot put! US #1 by NINE FEET right now! US #4 ALL-TIME
  • Parkland (NC) runs 3:57.59, US #1, to win the girls 4x400
  • Tatiyana Caffey (Miller Creek GA) runs 1:16.18 to win the girls 500 in a US #1 performance.
  • Jacklyn Howell (Southeast Raleigh NC) posts US #1 8.68 to win the Invitational 60 Hurdles 
  • Malia Ellington (Community School of Davidson) wins the girls 1000 in 2:59.4, US #3.
  •  Layla White (Cary NC) goes 57.29 to edge Tamani Wilson (Maclay School) in Invitational 400
  • Bianca Bishop (Providence NC) laps the entire field en route to an 11:01 in the 3200
  • Leesville Road girls ran away with first place in the 4x800 relay with a time of 10:08.

 


Boo Williams Winter Break Invitational (VA)

Boys Highlights

  • A breakthrough performance for Western Branch's Mondryl Glover in the finals of the 55 meter dash clocking a US #2 time of 6.38.
  • After false starting on Friday in the 55 meter dash prelims, Marcus Taylor of Highland Springs came to the track on Saturday fired up for the 200 meter as he showed with running a US #1 time of 22.09!
  • Oscar Smith senior Isaac Arriola leaped to a US #3 mark of 46'4.75" to claim first place in the boys' triple jump on Friday.
  • Phoebus junior Charles Graham won the 55 meter hurdles for the third consecutive weekend at Boo Williams with a 7.51 clocking in the finals.
  • The Western Branch boys established a new meet record in the shuttle hurdles relay (US #1 31.61).

Girls Highlights

  • US #1 time of 7.97 in girls 55 hurdles by Hampton (VA) senior Chantel Ray after putting herself on the national leaderboard earlier with a 8.02 clocking.
  • Carolyn Brown of Phoebus and Asonya Anderson of Heritage went to war in the finals of the girls 55 meter dash with the nation's top 2 fastest times with Brown as the winner in a US #1 clocking of 7.00 and Anderson as the runner-up in a US #2 performance of 7.01. Brown came back on Saturday to run her second US #1 of the meet as she held off national leading hurdler Ray (2nd, 25.44) in the 200 meter dash with a 25.22 clocking.
  • Maggie Walker girls easily got their state auto qualifier in the 4x800, but also with their US #2 time of 9:43.47 victory are now the state leaders in the event.  
  • Winning from a slower section of the girls 400 meter dash, Nansemond River sophomore Brandee Johnson posted a US #3 time of 58.08.
  • Current US #1 ranked triple jumper Javonne Antoinne of Elizabeth Seton (MD) produced another solid mark at Boo Williams (39'2.25" earlier in season at Real Deal Classic) with a mark of 38'4.50", which is still better than the US #2 mark currently.

  • Forest Park's Mustaqeem Williams uncorked a big US #1 mark of 24'6" to shatter old meet record and still has 3 more jumps left in the finals.
  • John Seals of West Springfield (VA) is now the national leader in high jump after clearing a personal best height of 6-9.
  • US #1 clocking of 34.24 on a flat track in the 300 meter dash for T.C. Williams sophomore Noah Lyles. Two of the top two times in the nation in the event are now held by VA sophomores in Lyles and Grassfield's Grant Holloway.
  • Riverdale Baptist (MD) junior Rashad Manning set a new meet record in the shot put with his personal best throw of 59'0.50", which also now ranks him US #4.
  • In the boys 1600, Osbourn Park's Nick Causey (US #1 4:20.08) waited till the last lap to make his surge past Lake Braddock's Alex Corbett (US #2 4:21.35) for two of the faster times in the country at 1600 meters/mile distances. 
  • T.C. Williams sophomore Noah Lyles broke the meet record in the 55 meter dash with a US #5 personal best clocking of 6.40.
  • Only a week removed from competing at the Foot Locker Nationals in San Diego, George C. Marshall's Mackenzie Haight wasted no time in jumping into indoor with a 3200 PR race of 9:21.05 (US #3).
  • One of DC's best hurdlers in Moses Kennedy of McKinley Tech crossed the line first in the boys 55 meter hurdles with a 7.79 clocking, which puts him just outside of the top 10 in the country.

Girls Highlights

  • The top three fastest times in the nation for the girls 500 was found at PG on Saturday with Woodbridge's Jewel Christian able to withstand challenges from Battlefield's Ellison Grove (US #2 1:15.84) and Western Tech's Sharon Dorsey (US #3 1:16.00) for great early season US #1 time of 1:15.30.
  • In consecutive sections, there were two US top 5 times in the girls 4x200 by Maryland schools with fast section winners Bullis School (US #3 1:44.09) and second section winners Riverdale Baptist (US #4 1:44.24).
  • Macey Schweikert of James Robinson (VA) led from start to finish in the girls 3200 with a US top 5 performance of 10:57.71 for the returning Virginia outdoor state 1600 meter champ.
  • Western Tech girls from Catonsville, Maryland were able to dip under 10 minutes with a US #5 time of 9:54.
  • Daja Bell of Bishop McNamara ran a US #8 time of 8.38 in the 55 meter hurdles to defeat another US top 10 ranked hurdler in South County's Morgan Knight (2nd, 8.48).

  • Dominique Hall from Shrewbury takes first in the 300 meter race with a US #3 time of 39.95.
  • Kate Gobi from Wachusett  was with the girls 600 winner with a US #9 time of 1:39.29.
  • Amanda Henson from Barnstable claims first in the girl 55 meter dash with a final time of 7.31.

  • Maddie Schneider of Darien High School succesfully cleared a height of 11 feet, which ranks among the top 10 best in the country currently.

Performances from Meets Earlier This Week...

New York:

  • Miller Place senior Tiana Guevera ran a US #1 time in the 3000 meter run with a 10:16 performance at Suffolk Community College on Tuesday. Guevara ran just over 10 minutes flat for 3K last year as a junior.
  • Sarah Hardie from Elwood/John Glenn HS knocked 3 seconds off her last 1000 meter time and appears to be ready to get back under 3 minutes soon after a US #3 time of 3:01.16 on Sunday at St. Anthony's. Two days later at Suffolk Community College, Hardie would run a US #2 time of 1:37.42 in the 600 meter run.
  • Archbishop Molloy junior Jared Lovelace popped roughly a foot and a half PR in the triple jump with his US #5 leap of 46'3.50" at the Fordham Prep Jumpfest on Thursday.
  • Longwood's Dennis Russell threw himself into a top 10 national ranking in the shot put with a US #8 distance of 55'8.50".

Illinois:

  • A swift US #2 clocking by Evan Scott from Normal Community High School in the 55 meter dash with his finals performance of 6.37 to follow up a 6.42 race earlier in the prelims at the Ted Haydon Holiday Classic in Chicago.
  • Runner-up to Scott in the 55 meter dash was Plainfield Central's Kahmari Montgomery (6.56), who later came back to post a US #1 time in the 200 meter dash at 22.64.
  • Lincoln-Way East senior sprinter Alexis Hyshaw breezed through the finals of the 55 meter dash at Ted Haydon with a US #6 clocking of 7.19.
  • Kanakee McNamara's Taylor McCammon, an Illinois state runner-up last spring in the long jump, is already on the right foot to compete for a state title in her senior year with a US #8 winning mark at the University of Chicago's indoor facility. 

Massachusetts:

  • Garrett O'Toole of Middlesex School nearly set his state record in the 3K with a 8:29.47 this past week at Boston University (read more) with a US #1 performance 8:29.47.
  • Andrew Bolze from Hingham High School ran an impressive hand-time in the sprints from the Patriot League Dual Meet with a 34.4h 300, but also leaped out to a US #2 mark of 22'10.25" in the long jump in the same meet.  The 300 time would also rank #2 in the country when adding in the hand-held .24 of a second penalty for conversion to F.A.T.  Female teammate Sierra Irvin also rolled in the 300 meter dash with a 40.4 hand-held performance.

Virginia:

  • Brunswick's DaJuan Seward had a big season opener after coming off a state championship football game only the weekend prior. Seward won two events in a Thursday evening meet at Fork Union Military Academy including US top 10 performances in the triple jump (US #3 46'9.75"), 55 meter hurdles (US #9 7.73), and a runner-up mark of 21'11.25' in the long jump.
  • Excellent girls triple jump competition on Thursday at Fork Union between Brunswick sophomore Bria Stith (US #4 37'2.75") and Atlee junior India Lowe (US #7 36'9.25") both recording US top 10 marks in the event. 

North Carolina:

  • Ty Jaye Robinson of Piedmont High School ran a time of 1:05.90 that would be a national leading 500 meter time if it were indoors, but instead was at polar bear meet outdoors at Weddington High School this past Tuesday.
  • Ebony Williams, a junior at Parkland High School, knocked a couple hundredths of a second off her previous PR in the 55 meter hurdles with a US #6 win of 8.33 at the Forsyth County Meet held indoors at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Tuesday. 

New Jersey:

  • On Friday at the O'Leary Lidlifter Invitational, Christi Kildal-Brandt of Mendham High School posted a US #6 time of 1:23.67 in the 600 meter run.
  • In the same Friday evening meet at Drew University, Mount Olive (NJ) senior Keturah Orjl ran a swift 55 meter dash just outside of the girls top 10 national list at 7.28.
