1/4 WKND: 10 US#1's at Hispanic Games in NY, plus 3 each in AL and VA

The winter storm which we will not give a name to unlike the Weather Channel (Herkulees-Hurkulees) did force a few meets north of Mason-Dixon Line to be cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled. Nonetheless, many meets did go on and things are really starting to heat up in the national leaderboard and leaderboard following the first weekend of 2014!

Headed to Scotland!

In extended XC season news....Several of the nation's top high school cross country runners in John Dressel (WA), Kai Wilmot (WA), Tanner Anderson (WA), Matthew Maton (OR), Estevan De La Rosa (CA), & Anna Maxwell (CA) have been selected by the USATF to compete for Team USA in the junior races at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country races in Scotland on Saturday, January 11th. Wilmot was the Nike Cross Nationals champion this past fall, while Dressell was the Foot Locker Nationals runner-up so a strong contingent of some of the very best high school cross country performers in the United States from this past fall will be making the trip to Edinburgh. Anna Maxwell, the lone high school girl on the US junior team comprised mainly of college freshmen, the senior from San Lorenzo Valley High School in California was fifth at the Foot Locker Nationals last month and also won a California state state title. USATF press release. Wilmot, Dressell and Maxwell will be blogging about their trip, experience and race for MileSplit!
