New Balance Indoor Grand Prix Junior Girls' Mile Preview

Audrey Belf (Birmingham Seaholm, MI)

Mile PR: 4:45.37 (outdoors)
Mile SB: 4:54.51

The Georgetown commit is the class of Michigan. Belf has lost only the rare race in a state that breeds strong distance runners, also home to someone you may have heard of named Grant Fisher. After posting All-American finishes at both cross country national championship events, Belf has rolled nicely into form during the indoor season. Her debut at the 1,600m was a 30-second win in US #2 4:57.09 and she won the GSVU Elite Mile this past weekend in US #4 4:54.51. To be truly competitive in Boston, she will need to get on the lower side of that 4:50 barrier. The strength is there - she ran a solo US #3 10:39.73 3,200m two weeks ago.
