What to Watch: Azusa Meet of Champions is Dream Mile auto qualifier

Preview: Boys Dream Mile qualifier

Austin Tamagno (Brea Olinda) is the nation's fastest 1,500m runner this season, as he clocked 3:46.94 to finish just two seconds off the U.S. Top 10 All-Time List.

Can anyone beat Austin Tamagno? The Brea Olinda junior finished third at this meet last year and enters the race with a season-best, US #1 mark of 3:46.94 for 1,500m. That time is just two seconds off the U.S. Top 10 All-Time List. He was also runner-up at the 2014 Brooks PR Invitational Mile and the 2014 CIF California State Finals 1,600m. After an outstanding fall that saw him win the CIF California DIII State Cross Country Championship and place fifth at Foot Locker Nationals, the 2015 outdoor track season could be a breakout for the star.

Another returnee from last year's race is Big Bear senior Caleb Webb, who enters with a personal record of 4:15.98. The two-time defending CIF California DIV State Cross Country Champion may have had an even better fall season than Tamagno, as he finished third at Nike Cross Nationals and fourth at the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country event in Scotland.

2014 CIF California State Finals 800m runner-up Connor Morello of Clovis (pictured below, hip No. 2) likely has the best kick in the field, as he boasts a half mile best of 1:51.05. He has already run 1:54.35 this year.
