Briarwood Invitational, PA - ON-SITE | Megan Venables Interview | Katie Kinkead Interview | Girls Championship Race | Complete coverage story here | In the girls Championship race Megan Venables, Highland NJ, rolled to an epic course record, running 17:39 for the win!  The time is the first under 18:00 for a girl and is 46 seconds faster than Jessica Cickay's course record of 18:26.4.  MileSplit.us #8 Sarah Sargent, Pennsbury PA, was 2nd in a time of 18:04.  Harrier #4 Tatnall DE won the girls team title with 53 points and Pennsbury was 2nd with 58 points.  More coming!!  More stats, photos, and interviews coming!! Westbrook Meet, ME - US#11 Abbey Leonardi, ME, continues her winning ways by blasting to a 17:53 win, just 1:03 behind the winning boy!  Race videos and interviews to come here!!

 

 

Mt. Carmel/Movin Shoes XC Invitational, CA - Several records fell at the Mt. Carmel Invite today starting with MileSplit #6 Elias Gedyon, Loyola, who won the senior boys race with a swift 14:40 over the 2.95 mile layout.  MileSplit #22 Lane Werley, Martin Luther King, was 2nd in 14:41.  MileSplit # 12 Darren Fahy, La Costa Canyon, won the boys junior race in 14:45 smashing the previous junior record by 4 seconds.  In the girls senior race MileSplit #5 Molly Grabill, Rancho Bernardo, won with a time of 14:36 over the 2.7 mile course.  Alli Billmeyer, Torrey Pines, was 2nd in 14:43.  Both girls crushed the previous record of 14:55 held by Megan Morgan (Torrey Pines).  Full and complete recap of the meet by Chris Ruff.

 

 

Mountain Dew UF Invite, FL - | Kacy Smith story | US#14 Armando Del Valle, Miami Columbus, rolled to victory with a dominate time of 15:18.69.  Miami Columbus dominated the team victory by scoring 66 points.  The girls race featured a battle of the sophs with Kacy Smith, Estero, winning with a time of 17:59.03 over Shelby Davidson, Cocoa Beach, who ran 18:21.89 for 2nd.  Estero also won the team title with 73 points.  

 

 

Katie Caples Invitational, FL - US#23 Jimmy Clark, Creekside FL, won going away with a time of 15:18.  Behind hiim Trinity Prep and Holy Trinity Academy battled it out for team supremacy.  Trinity prep won28 points to 59 points.  Maclay soph Stefanie Kurgatt won the girls race with a time of 18:16.  Holy Trinity Academy dominated Chiles in the team race 54 points to 83 points.

 

 

King's Academy XC Invite, FL - Ryan Pickering, Jonh I. Leon, rolled to victory with a time of 15:29.32, 52 seconds up on 2nd place.  

 

 

Bob Pratt Invitational, NY - MileSplit.us #11 Kelsey Margey, Haroborfields NY, rolled to victory in her first XC race of the 2010 season with a time of 18:49.97.  Samantha Nadel, North Shore, was 2nd in 18:58.28.  

 

Woodbridge Cross Country Classic, CA - 8,100 runners hit the course at the 30th annual Woodbridge Invitational this weeken.  The boys Sweepstakes race, renamed to honor the late Doug Speck, was won by Arcadia's Ammar Moussa who finished the 3 mile run in 14:25 followed by Ryan Urie (Patrick Henry) in 14:32.  Arcadia had a great day as Catrina McAlister won the girls sweepstakes race in 16:43 followed by Mariel Mendoza (J.W. North) in 16:55.

  

 

George Young InvitationalAZ - ON-SITEThe course was hilly and the temperatures hovered over 100 degrees as the first race kicked off at 7:30 AM with the boys varsity race.  Brophy Prepsenior, Will Firth took the lead half way through the 3 mile course and fought off 2009State Champ Jorge Martinez (Sr., Alhambra) finishing in 14:39.3.  Sophomore Sarah Fakler, Xavier Prep, won the girls 3 mile race with a time of 17:43 while senior leading the team to victory.  Xavier Prep finished the race with 27 points placing 6 runners in the top 10.    Alhambra wonthe boys event with 68 points.  Four time Olympian, George Young (pictured above right behind Prefontaine) stopped by and gave the runners in impromptu talk. 

 

 

 

 

 

Trinity Invitational, KY - ON-SITE | Race Story | US#19 Emma Brink, Sacred Heart KY, continued her winning season with a quick time of 18:01.  US#17 Chris Walden, Carmel IN, won the boys race with a swift time of 14:57.  Behind him were some impressive soph's, led by Jacob Thomson, Holy Cross KY, who crossed the line in 2nd with a time of 15:17.  West Virginia soph Jacob Burcham was 3rd with a time of 15:19.  Full Meet Preview

 

 

Liberty Bell Invitational, CO - ON-SITE | Results    Eleanor Fulton (Highland Ranch), won the girls Division 2 race with the fastest time of the night in 17:34.  Julie Foster (Albuquerque Academy) was the only other girl to break 18 minutes, winning the Division 1 girls race in 17:58.   William Kincaid (Columbine) and Kagan Vargo (Chaparral) were only 1 second apart but while Kincaid won the Division 2 boys race in 15:34, Vargo won the Division 1 boys race in 15:35. 

When all 4 divisions were merged together the Albuquerque Academy boys and the Monarch girls took home the grand prize.   Albuquerque Academy  finished with 52 points placing 5 runners in the top 16.  They had a total time of 1:20.29 and an average time of 16:05.76.

 The Monarch girls had 54 points and placed 5 runners in the top 17.  They finished with a total time of 1:35.11 and an average time of 19:02.16.
