Trey Hadnot Finishes 16th at NCAA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - Ruston native Trey Hadnot finished 16th in the 200m dash as action continued off-and-on at a water-logged Drake Stadium at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships late Thursday.

Hadnot, a freshman out of Ruston High School, ran 20.97 and finished 16th overall in the semifinal round. Thursday's action in Des Moines was met with off-and-on thunderstorms, lightning and hail which continuously stopped and started several events. At least three events were suspended in the middle of competition and two events were wholly postponed until Friday.

Hadnot is the fourth of four Louisiana Tech athletes competing at the NCAA Championships this week. He is the only Western Athletic Conference sprinter to advance to the semifinals in the 200m and was one of only three freshman to reach that level.
