I am confused about the signing of the letter of intent. I have always thought those that sign are signing becasue they are receiving some sort of athletic scholarship and are committing to that school. If that's true, then why do I read where Div 3 athletes sign and also Ivy athletes sign? Is there something I am missing?

pistol79 In order to sign a NLI you MUST be receiving Athletic Scholarship money. All of these kids can not be getting Athletic scholarships.

pistol79 not only that but there are also kids listed that i would be very surprised if they were receive athletic money to the schools the "signed" with. I think this is just a list of schools that kids have chosen to attend. I would like to see a true NLI list to asses what marks you need to get money from those schools.

D3 atletes do not sign NLIs. Athletes listed may have committed to a D3 school (the Milespilt list is a commitment list, not a scholarship list). However, some Ivy's and Patriot League schools will have athletes sign an NLI to receive scholarship money (athletic/academic merit). My child is one of them.
Um....where does MS get their info? Doesn't seem to be a place to submit signee names???
Have your HS coach email the signing info to the webmaster for your state.
