Seeded Girls (Race Video)
Florida 4A Champion Bridget Blake will be making a return trip to San Diego this year! The Dr. Phillips senior will be the lone representative from the Sunshine State; the first time in over a decade that Florida has only had one representative. Blake improved upon her seventh place finish last year with a sixth place personal best of 17:12 on the lightning fast McAlpine Park course.
That was the end of the excitement today for Florida, as far as National qualifying hopes go. Several other runners had great races, but none came close to the top ten required to qualify. Emily Edwards (18th 17:58), Julie Wollrath (20th 17:59), and Blake's teammate Amber Johnson (29th 18:07) were the next best in the girls seeded race.
