On-Site Race Day Coverage

Our core on-site national coverage team this year consisted of Steve Underwood, Aaron Rich, Don Rich, Margot Kelly, Kyle Brazeil, Phil Grove, and Jason Byrne.


  • Boys Championship Race: Edward Cheserek (NJ) withstood a hard early pace and surges by Sean McGorty (VA) but was able to pull away with 500 meters to go to secure his 2nd straight victory with a time of 14:59.  McGorty was 2nd with a time of 15:05 while Jake Leingang (ND) finished 3rd with a 15:07 clocking.  Benjamin Saarel (UT) rounded out the top 4 with a time of 15:13, making it a sweet of the regional champs on the boys side!  Jacob Thomson (KY) was 5th in 15:14 and NXN champ Sam Wharton (OH) was 6th in 15:19.   • Girls Championship RaceMarrissa Williams (CA) led the race out to an early blistering 66 second opening 400. Meanwhile, Anna Rohrer (IN) stumbled during the first 100 meters. She took the leaders through 800 before Rohrer came roaring back to take the lead at around 1K, with a horde of herMidwest girls in tow. Catarina Rocha (MA) hung back in fifth place behind the midwesterners before riding a big kick in the last 100 meters to move all the way into second place. The South girls took a conservative path, starting the race in the teens before Karis Jochen (TX) and Sophie Chase (VA) picked their way up into fifth and sixth, respectively.     Hopefully they will put up some better footage later....he makes his move....not that we can see it!

    Sorry that Foot Locker's live feed cut out. It was not a stream we were running, I know they had some technical difficulties there toward the end unfortunately.

    We will have some great race footage from our video crew around the course later. We were at about 10 spots or more on the course.
