One of the athletes participating at 2001 Cosmopolitan Invitational was Cave Spring senior Bill Meador who had a record breaking day. Meador was a double winner in the 1600 meter and 3200 meter run.

The 2001 Judy Thomas Invitational brought together many of the top AA and A in the southwestern part of the state. Two teams that stood out from the rest were the Marion girls and Abingdon boys track teams.

Boone's Daniel Parker was able to down Footlocker National qualifier Mike Swope of Winter Park in their two duals of the day--for the second week in a row. The two will face off once more next week at the 4A District 4 Championships.

At the 34th annual Arcadia Invitational in Arcadia, California, there was an assembly of some of the top prep distance in the entire nation. Runners from the Northeast, South, Midwest, and West were all in attendance.

The Florida Boys represent their state in fine style in the most elite venue in the land. Webb leads Jeffersons to well sub-4:10 mile performances at the Aracadia Invitational.

The 2001 Captain Classic showcased some of top individuals and teams in Southeastern Virginia. Teams that stood far out ahead of the rest were the Bethel and Norfolk Academy girls squads who won the AAA and AA/A girls team titles respectively.

The 2001 Clarke County Invitational was a meet dominated by the visiting West Virginia teams as the first 3 finishing teams were all from West Virginia with Jefferson County HS of West Virginia taking the title with 59 points.

Today dawned warm and beautiful as athletes from 25 schools arrived at Dinwiddie High School for an exciting day of track and field competition in the Fifth Annual Five Forks Track Classic. Several athletes recorded personal bests and state qualifiers.

The Loudoun Valley Invitational is a different meet. Its an all girls and no boys meet as the meet showcases some of the top female athletes and teams in the area and a break away from their male teammates.

As a spectator as well as a competitor at the 2001 Seahawk Invitational I was able to catch a glimpse of why the Northern Virginia area is considered to have the best track athletes in the state.

At the 2001 Vince Bradford Relays held at E.C. Glass HS in Lynchburg, the defending AA state girls team champions, Jefferson Forest had an exception meet as they were able to just edge out a good AAA team in the Cave Spring squad.
