Flocasts has signed a multifaceted agreement with MileSplit, the largest network of high school running sites on the Internet. The partnership will produce the largest collection of media sources online for core running participants and fans of competitive running, with a combined reach of 2 million unique visitors a month.

Four years ago, ArmoryTrack.com (a division of the Armory Foundation) joined MileSplit as the network’s New York affiliate site. That chapter in the site’s history will come to a close in August when ArmoryTrack will once again operate as an independent publication.
Dr. Norbert Sander, president of the Armory Foundation, says the affiliation has been a positive one for their organization and the decision to leave was not an easy one.
“The Armory Foundation has been proud to partner with and (has greatly benefited) from our four year collaboration with MileSplit. The addition of invaluable technology by MileSplit has created a wonderful service to our thousands of young runners and field athletes from throughout New York State,” said Sander.

The New York Federations meet, set for Saturday November 17th at Bowdoin Park, Wappingers Falls, NY, is no longer the qualifying meet for New York teams to the Nike Team Nationals (NTN). Qualifying meet moving to the November 24th.

On a cool, crisp, breezeless night perfect for distance racing, two girls and two boys broke the one-year old meet records in the 5000. Michigan's Marissa Treece opened an early lead and kept Pennsylvania's Lara Croffrord about 30 meters back the entire way, pushing across the line in 16:36.34. Crofford, who was alone in 2nd most of the race, went 16:43.46. The meet record of 16:57.21 was held by Bona Jones of Florida. Connecticut's Adam Vess and New Jersey's Doug Smith battlled over the last mile, with Smith taking a lead on the pentultimate lap, before the sophomore was overpowered by his senior racing companion on the final lap. Vess finished in 14:38.23, with Smith in at 14:40.76. The meet record of 14:48.43 was set in 2006 by Ben Massum of New Jersey.
