Gabe Moore calls his second place finish at the USA Championships in Sacramento "his biggest accomplishment ever". Moore (on the right with decathlon champion Harrison Williams) recently graduated from Freeport High School finished second in the decathlon and punched his ticket to the IAAFWorld Junior Championships July 5th-6th at historic Hayward Field in Eugene Oregon. He says the competition this weekend was simply amazing.
Sandi Morris posted a final clearance of 4.55m/14-11 to finish in second place in the pole vault. Morris cleared the first three heights of the competition without a miss to secure a spot in the top two along with eventual winner and American record holder Jenn Suhr.
In heat 2 of the women's 1500 meter prelims at the US Outdoor Championships today (7:03 PM PT start) in Sacramento, all of the runners in the field will be looking to try and advance onto the finals of the event. However, alll attention will be on the race within the race seeing two of the greatest female high school distance runners in the country's history competing head to head for the first time this outdoor season and first time since both ran with the elite pros at the Millrose Games mile in February.
