In her debut season in high school in 2019, Jayla Jamison made a very big statement at the Bojangles Track and Field Classic.
A very big statement.
While the Airport (SC) High School freshman was faced up against some legitimate talent in both the 100m and 200m, the South Carolina athlete dropped national-level times anyway, securing a then-US No. 1 wind-legal time of 11.56 and a US No. 4 effort of 23.88 seconds in the 100m and 200m, respectively.
In a flash, Jamison announced her arrival as one of the top talents in the Class of 2023.
