Michigan is a tough state to win in. Much less as a freshmen as Traverse City Central's Sielle Kearney has been doing on several occassions this season including most recently in her lead-in to her first state meet in claiming the regional title this past Saturday in a 18:02 5K PR. Kearney has been consistently running in the 18's all fall (including a runner-up finish at Portage Invite) as one of the top runners on one of the best teams in Michigan and she hopes to go under 18 for the first time as well as have her squad attempt to challenge Birmingham Seaholm in the Division 1 state race on Saturday.
